Kundan rangolis

The latest fad is rangolis made out of kundan stones. How could I not try my hand at it? here's a step by step account of how I made my first kundan rangoli. Hope you enjoy looking at it, as much as I enjoyed making this.

Things needed:

1. OHP sheet
2. fabric glue
3.Kundan stones
4. gold coloured beaded chain
5. half pearls



1. Draw the desired shape on a OHP(transparent) sheet.

2. These are some stone used in the making of this rangoli. Different combinations can be used. I drew the design on paper first to get a feel of how it would look.

 

3. use fabric glue to stick the various pieces as per the design.

Ganesha in any form is as adorable. Have tried making a leaf ganesha here...

Ganesha is the elephant head god, depicted here in a colourful rangoli holding lotusus in two hands and a "modak" in the third, while he blesses us with his fourth...perched on his "asana" the royal chair, and wearing a crown studded with precious stones, he showers his blessings. No work can ever be complete without invoking him first. Ganapati bappa moriya.

Jai Sri Krishna!

That's a traditional rangoli made with a paste of rice floor and bordered with "geru" or red clay . I have toyed with using a mehendi design instead of a more contemporary one. It is a welcome rangoli for Lord Krishna on Janamashtami ( and you can also see one little footprint in the left top corner!) Since the peacock feather adorns the crown of Kanha, I thought a peacock design would be apt for the occasion.
